Vintage Jumo 600 Chrome Table Lamp, 1940's - 1950's

$1,000.00

The JUMO model 600 desk lamp was designed in 1940 by André Mounique and Yves Jujeau for their lighting company, JUMO, which was located outside of Paris. The light won world notoriety when renowned architect/designer, Charlotte Perriand, chose this light for the 1949 exhibition: “Le Bazar” at the Musée des Arts decoratives (Museum of Decorative Arts ) in Paris. She never designed the lamp as some inaccurate historical statements have been made over the years. This light remains a classic amongst designers and collectors searching for Bauhaus, Industrial, and French Modernist style pieces. This beautiful lamp has an adjustable domed shade and pivoting shaft on a weighted round base with an integrated switch.

It's in good condition for its age aside from some typical rust inside the dome and some light wear and age on the chrome. A solid statement piece!
